NBA Academy is a year-round elite basketball development initiative that provides top high school-age prospects from outside the U.S. with a holistic approach to player development and a predictable pathway to maximize their potential. The NBA Academy program includes six academies across Australia, China, India, Mexico and Senegal for top prospects from their respective countries and continents. As part of the program, the prospects compete against top competition throughout the year and have an opportunity to be selected for travel teams that play in international tournaments and exhibition games.
The NBA reached out to Reingold inc. about creating a planner for young athletes to help them set a path for the days, weeks and months ahead to aid them in goal-setting on and off the basketball court. I worked as Art Director and design lead for this particular project. The client wanted something that would be easy for a young athlete to carry yet engaging for them to use each day. This 216 page vibrant wire bound planner struck the perfect balance between design and function with an interactive element to allow the reader to scan QR codes to check out some of the latest videos from the NBA Academy or listen to the latest songs from a featured playlist on Spotify.
